These Are the Candidates for the Governor General: Have We Not Learned Anything from Payette?
https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/pm-to-get-short-list-of-potential-governor-general-candidates-in-a-few-days
From a simple search or poking around, it could have been quickly determined that Payette would never have been an appropriate candidate as a GG but no, the Liberals could only see female, francophone, astronaut.
Now the pendulum has swung the other way with the proposed underwhelming candidates to fill the prestigious representative for the Head of State, the Queen's, shoes. A Canada Post representative- seriously?
"...acting clerk of the Privy Council Janice Charette, Inuit leader Natan Obed, Universite de Montreal rector Daniel Jutras, interim Canada Post chair Suromitra Sanatani and Judith LaRoque, a former secretary to the governor general..."
If Only Woke Was a Joke: Cancel Culture Shutring Down Canada Day, of All Days, In Victoria
For a country with the highest immigration levels, hand picked refugees by the tens of thousands, from one particular war torn Muslim country, numerous accommodations and changes ot laws (eg. Motor cycle helmets or, policing uniform changes not required nor allowed for some), allowing illegal entry at unofficial border crossings treated with dignity, rights and respect, court and law systems based on appeals; consultation, veto rights, and land agreements for its native population (still not enough given its ongoing issues of water access); right to protest in large groups even during a pandemic for recent movements; diversity reflected everywhere even in elected mentees if parliament....Canada is so bad that it's own day is agreed to be cancelled by many?

The Rot of Arrogance Continues to Run Deep in the Liberal Party: WE Charity Affair Reaponse Ramps Up the Gall Factor
Not only were the Liberals caught, reluctantly held an inquiry by committee, provided nothing but heavily redacted documents, shunned committee responsibilities by providing irrelevant individuals to answer "I don't know" to all questions, but now have the gall to write a dissenting report (a "normal" Liberal party would have just ignored the findings, but no this Liberal party manages to stick its feet further into the four letter word for a terrible and organic form of quicksand).
"...Within its scathing 116 pages lies a list of 20 recommendations to reform Canada’s lobbying and conflict of interest laws, supported by all three major opposition parties. While they largely stem from the infamous WE Charity affair, they also touch upon other suspect pandemic funding decisions, including those for large ventilator contracts.
Unfortunately, the governing Trudeau Liberals aren’t on board. They attached a four-page dissenting opinion that rejects the committees’ 20 recommendations as either “unhelpful” or “outside the scope of this study.” They also include three recommendations of their own; ones that would be comical in their hollow inanity if the subject weren’t of such importance to Canada’s democracy and national security..."
