Sustainability is the Mantra for Everything, What About Canada's Debt?

I suppose for the Liberals, debt is a "renewable energy".  For anyone else it must be eliminated.

"...Thanks to Livio Di Matteo’s comprehensive 2017 history of our debt for the Fraser Institute (where, full disclosure, I’m a senior fellow) we know that Canada’s net debt in 1867 was just $75 million. Yes, government debt used to be calculated in millions, not billions of dollars. As of this year’s federal budget, that number, forecast for Fiscal Year 2019-20, was up to $793.7 billion — with a “b.”

...Many members of the current government seem willing to impose big costs on all of us in order to keep the planet healthy for our children and our children’s children, for instance, by giving up such obvious conveniences as plastics or fossil fuels. But, despite their professed preoccupation with our progeny, when it comes to public spending and taxes they are perfectly willing to load up the little tykes with...debt and the future tax obligations..."
