This news item took weeks for the English media to cover it after the Quebec media first blew it open. Regardless, yet another abuse of power by the Liberals on the institution of Immigration - suiting their own needs and regarding it as nothing more than a tap they turn on and...on. Another example why the immigration institution should be taken out of government hands (certainly Liberals' hands) and made an independent body like the Courts and Bank of Canada, objectively based on merits, economic needs and forecasts, skills (for an educated western country I don't understand how we are chronically told we have a "skills shortage"), housing, services (healthcare, policing), urban versus rural population reviews, etc.
