On the Overly Sensitive Issue of Immigration, thr Financial Post Has Some Sobering Opinions and Polls Around Liberal-ly Increasing Annual Immigration Numbers at This Time

"...A new poll by Nanos Research Group for Bloomberg News notes that a mere 17 per cent of Canadian respondents believe the country should accept more immigrants in 2021 than it did last year.

As many as 40 per cent of respondents said the government should in fact reduce the number of new permanent residents accepted in 2021 below 340,000, while 36 per cent favoured the same immigration levels as 2019.

Opposition parties are also raising concerns, Bloomberg reported.

“We’re facing 9 per cent to 10 per cent unemployment — more than a million Canadians are out of work,” Conservative lawmaker Raquel Dancho told Bloomberg in an interview, adding that affordable housing is also scarce. “Where are these folks going to work? Where are these folks going to live?”..."

The Idiocy of Unions ans "Collective" Agreements: Canada's Senior Care Homes

https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/company-says-union-rejected-deal-to-pay-employees-more-to-work-exclusively-at-its-long-term-care-homes-during-pandemic

In offering higher wages to workers to exclusively work at one seniors home to prevent the spread of covid, the union argued that ALL employees should receive the raise whether at one location or not.  A "unionspeak" head scratcher.

"...Levitt said the union argued all employees should get a raise, which Levitt said defeated the purpose of the offer to incentivize employees to work at just one home before the provinces brought in their own rules during the first wave of the pandemic..."

Somehow this is supposed to fix the record breaking unemployment as well as chronic "skills shortages" and "aging population" - two of the problems every time you open a paper and that have been unsolved issues for decades despite Canada's overly generous immigration programs. Will this  be the program that finally gets it right?

"...The admission target for Canada’s PNP has been set in the plan at 80,800 for 2021, and this number is expected to increase annually.

For 2022 and 2023, IRCC is planning to raise the number of PNP admissions to 81,500 and 83,000, respectively...."

Whenever You (Liberals) Need a Head Scratching Answer, Send in Minister Jean-Yves Duclos: How Does He Sleep at Night?

 https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/opposition-grills-treasury-board-president-about-lacking-transparency-on-billions-in-federal-spending

Once again Minister Jean-Yves Duclos gets the short end of the stick.  Whenever a bewildering answer is required to an obvious problem, send out Minister Jean-Yves Duclos. He has made a career of it.   Whether it is explaining why Services Canada began using "Parent 1" and "Parent 2" versus Mom and/or Dad or this basic question of "where are the billions going?", Duclos is the mindless Liberal robot that actually speaks the illogical answers/justifications.  How can he sleep at night?
