Unilingual Anglo Canadians may be getting their lumberjack plaid nickers in a knot but if something is not done for protection of Canada's official language then imagine a Canada losing yet another of its institutions because that's the way it is going: no bilingualism, no Queen, no Canadian spelling, no mention of Canada's historical figures, no Remembrance Day respect or observation, no May 24/Queen Victoria Day, no companies proudly named after Canada (see TC Energy, Encana now Ovintiv), a once mighty, proud and revered military, no CFL, etc.
If Canadians want an English only world of mere health care providers, funny coloured monetary notes, a border with the US and devoid of all Caandiana to distinguish us on the world stage, they may be saddened when that day comes....soon.
