Budget Day for Canada: Let's See What Tricks The Liberals Have Up Their Sleeve to Deflect Attention from SNC, Shipbuilding scandals

With no timeline to pay back Canada's billions of debt, no doubt the Liberals will take today's occasion to promise everything to all Canadians and run up more deficits.  The question is only how much and how patronizing will this budget be.

Fiscally, Which Canadian Political Party Would You Vote For?

Not only is a ludicrous and damaging trip to India (supposed to be a trade mission), many broken promises and a delayed legalized marijuana deadline, but also the reality of interest rates are against the Liberal party which should reduce somewhat their "Spend! Spend! Spend!" attitudes toward  financing and  budgets. But then again, as has been written previously in this forum, there is "Math" and then there is "Liberal Math" (sources noted below including recognition to Bloomberg).  Somehow, some way this will be swept under the rug without any consideration.  As well as the leftist media will bite on this bait.

No Fewer than Five Negative Articles About Justin's Indian Travels, The Liberals...Out of Six in the National Post This Morning

It must be easy to be a journalist these days covering the likes of The Justin and The Donald.  Here at home in the Great White North, anyone who reads one of the national daily papers will have seen the Trudeau family posing in India. As one of these comments on the kids playing cricket, a visit to a Jama mosque, and other meaningless events on this taxpayer funder borderline vacation.  The other, reports of eye rolling on the extra fashion choices in India, the embarrassing invite of a convicted terrorist Jaspal Atwal, and the upcoming utopic budget of gender equality, inclusiveness, and everything else that is feel-good that will be paid for by the never ending dollars from a unicorn's ass.  Scrolling further down there is another regarding, "This country has racked up one of the developed world’s saddest records in attracting business investment".

With one day's worth of headlines like this, how does someone like this stay in power?

There's Math...And Then There is "Liberal Math"

When someone asks the hypothetical question, "if you could invite anyone over for dinner, who would be your six guests?", I have started to think about the following response - our unethical Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his unethical, over spending, over taxing Finance Minister Bill Morneau and ANY high school accounting teacher. Why don't we throw in Kathleen Wynn and her over spending, over taxing Finance Minister Charles Sousa.

A high school accounting teacher should be enough to clear the definitions of what a "balanced budget" is (hint, it does not involve going $5.0B into debt or recieving ~20% of revenues in handouts from the Feds...Kathleen), and that mult-billion dollar deficits do matter and should be considered in paying them down otherwise over time they will hurt you.

Then once learned, let either i) the revelations or ii) the squirming begin...

...And a Summary of Canada 2018 from Bloomberg

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-01-03/trudeau-embraces-the-economy-just-as-it-begins-to-gear-down

In deflecting all the nonsense that both Justin and his "trusted" Finance Minister Morneau found themselves in (thanks to Liberal above-the-law entitlement), now Trudeau wants to highlight the economy.  This coming from a leader who piles on deficits upon deficits.

The thing is, when did employment dipping below 6.0% become something to brag about? Especially after it has taken nine years to recover form the global financial crisis of 2008.  Historical averages have been ~4.0%.

More smoke and mirrors from the Justin and his merry band of over taxing Liberals.

Politics, Elected Leaders, Views of Economic Engines: USA vs Canada

In the USA today - tax cuts, doubling child care tax credits and a speech about "our great farmers" and "our great small business owners" by their elected leader, the President.

Meanwhile in Canada, tax increases, child care reductions, and a vindictive view of farmers, doctors, store keepers because for liability purposes they are structured around a corporation.  Oh, and that comes from our Finance Minister because our elected leader, the Prime Minister is too busy apologizing.

Coincidence Both Were Announced (To Overshadow the Other)? One More Backtracking Example from the Taxing Liberal Party Sprinkled With Morneau Conflict of Interest: That Makes Both the PM and The Finance Minister Hauled Into the Ethics Commissioner's Office

...And by the smirk on Justin's face, there is little regard for the Ethics Commissioner.

Backtracking or action from "consultations"? Let the (apathetic) Canadian voters decide, "...“When we made the commitment back in 2015 to lower small business taxes, we were very clear about one thing: we would only make this change after we took a look at the tax system. That’s what these consultations of these past months were all about...".  [Insert Justin's smirk, and things are fine.]

How can the Liberals take credit and call this a "tax cut" when in fact it was barely out of the consultation period as the Liberals were dragged through the mud and vilified for the higher rate....and not even passed into legislation yet!

Ah, the Liberal media spin machine.  The people behind it are good at what they do - cunning, bold and ruthless.

As mentioned, "Trudeau campaigned in 2015 on a promise to reduce the small business tax rate to nine per cent from 11 per cent over three years — but he announced in Budget 2016 he would freeze the rate at 10.5 per cent, cancelling in the process a legislated reduction to nine per cent instituted by the previous Conservative government."
