Unemployment at 10.2%, Need for Quarantining Candians and International Travellers and Border Controls Yet 107,000 Express Entry Participants "Invited" to Canada

"...Canada finished off the year issuing 107,350 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to Express Entry candidates. This was the highest invitation total since the Express Entry system was introduced in 2015 to manage the pool of candidates for Canada’s three Federal High-Skilled immigration programs— the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC)— as well as some of its Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP)..."
The Porous Canadian Border Continues, Even During Pandemic Times
Like a bad referee in a game seven who misses blatant penalties and lets events get out of hand, Justin has lost control on the border (among China, financial disclosure, ethics confidence, etc.)
"...When the United States and Canada agreed in March to close their border to asylum seekers at unauthorized entry points, Canadian officials said they had received assurances from their U.S. counterparts that the asylum seekers they turned back wouldn’t be deported.
...Canadian Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino this month exempted five of those asylum seekers from the border restrictions, according to Kate Webster, their Toronto-based lawyer. Another application is pending. That means they will be allowed to enter Canada, if the United States releases them.
“While we absolutely welcome this decision and are very happy about it, we’re mindful that this is only a small piece of the puzzle and that the exemption on its own is not a complete solution,” Webster said....'
Sir John A.: Will He Ever Have a Fair Shake? 2020 Said No
https://nationalpost.com/opinion/christopher-sweeney-sir-john-a-macdonalds-legacy-is-a-tool-for-education-not-a-standard-for-wokeness
"...The fact that indigenous peoples in the West stipulated that education be provided in their treaties is ignored, as is the fact that Macdonald insisted that residential school attendance be voluntary — and open to girls and boys. They were only made mandatory long after his death. We don’t hear much about these facts these days.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and there is certainly more than enough in John A. Macdonald’s record to show that he was far from perfect on Indigenous matters, but there is also ample evidence that shows that he was acutely aware of his and his government’s responsibilities towards Indigenous people, and that both he and his governments did their best to meet these responsibilities. (Is the federal government doing much better on that file today, with a far larger bureaucracy and much more money?) It is certainly ironic that Macdonald, who was roundly criticized by contemporaries for being too “progressive” on Indigenous issues, is now vilified for his lack of compassion.."

Finally: Government Rejects Chinese Gold Producer's Acquisition of TMAC Resources in Canada's North
Combined with the ridiculous "invite" to China's PLA to "share" arctic battle measures and the ongoing Meng case, this puts more strain on Canadian Chinese relations. The right decision ruled on this transaction given the abundance of port and air strip infrastructure in Canada's remote north for such a Chinese government influenced entity to run amok.

More Skills Shortage Nonsense: Inmigration's Leg ti Stand On
https://www.cicnews.com/2020/12/canada-needs-tech-talent-1216523.html#gs.o34od3
At some point the institution of immigration will have to answer to the chronic issues of " lack of skilled workers" and " aging population ". This has been an excuse for decades now.
If the demand is so high for such tech jobs, why are our Canadian universities and colleges failing to meet this demand and design diplomas and degrees to prepare students for such a high growth, high demand, good paying, important career choice?
"...The Global Talent Stream (GTS) is a fast-track federal immigration program that helps employers attract and retain highly skilled temporary foreign workers. Under the GTS, employers need to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). This is to prove that they have exhausted all possibilities to hire from the local talent pool. This process takes two weeks.
Once this process is over, foreign nationals can then apply to come to Canada through the GTS. Canada processes these applications in just two weeks. This means that it can take just four weeks for a foreign national to come to Canada through this program..."

More Examples of Canada as a Country of Pemanent Residents Rather Than Citizens: Spousal Sponsorship From Abroad - 80,000 per Year?!
It is easy to lose track of all these programs and the tens of thousands that are associated with each. This program alone where 80,000 spousal applications from abroad annually seems like a really high number. Question: is this included in the planned 400,000 annual immigration target or outside of that (full citizenship is not immediately granted under this program)?

It's Coming: The Day Canada's Debt Rating Will be Downgraded or Worse - There Are No Buyers of Our Debt

“Canada’s public financial profile would weaken relative to its ‘AA’ category peers if the federal budgets for fiscal years 2021-22 and 2022-23 adhere to the government’s medium-term operational forecasts and stimulus plans as outlined in the Fall Economic Statement (FES) without new revenue-raising measures,” Fitch added..."

Trudeau's Experimental Refugee Crusade Now Showing Cracks As Support Has Run Out - Now What?

TMAC Resources: The Two Michaels Can Be Saved By Canada, US; However There Is Still A Northern Gold Producer Acquisition By China Yet To Be Approved
Not to mention there is an acquisition process by Shandong Gold of TMAC Resources, the most northerly gold producer in Canada's remote far north and with port access and other infrastructure, yet to be approved by the Liberal government on security grounds. What a coincidence the PLA welcomes "sharing" of arctic training from the Canadian Forces during this ongoing transaction approval process.
" ..The bureaucrats headed to their battlements, meaning crafting memoranda. Drafts flew back and forth, and have now been released. As is customary, they were supposed to black out the bits that are illuminating but embarrassing. They forgot to do it, or, one hopes, a conscientious whistleblower somewhere decided to let the cowardice out of the diplomatic bag.
The entire exchange is characterized by the fear that the PLA or Chinese politburo may take offence at being denied espionage-friendly access to Canadian bases. There is not a hint of shock, let alone dismay, that the Canadian Armed Forces are training the PLA, precisely in techniques that would prove helpful if, say, the PLA went venturing about in the high Canadian Arctic. The diplomatic drafts insist that before Vance take any actions on PLA co-operation he should clear them first with Global Affairs, to avoid any chill at receptions hosted by the Canadian embassy in Beijing..."

More Lies of "Free Universal" Health Care; Disappointing Example of Why People Choose to Move, and Are Accepted, Into Canada
More lies spread about "free universal" health care. As a provincial example, $63.4 billion in Ontario, the largest expenditure by the province ($5,000 for every man, woman, child), more than twice education ($29.8 billion, not including Ontario Teachers Pension Plan impact). Free? Ontarians pay ~$78 billion in income and sales taxes (of a total $153 billion the province takes in). Also, a disappointing example that a top reason someone desires and is lucky enough to emigrate to Canada (it is not values, not acknowledgement of opportunities, not our Franco-Anglo history, not an inspiring anthem, not enjoying winter sports, not Canadian culture, not two official languages, not the ability to contribute to society, not education standards, not Commonwealth, not voting in elections, not for rural or urban reasons, not rule of law, not our quirky accent and "eh")...but the commonplace western world social benefit of healthcare (although important) - that's a main reason?

Liberals' Parliamentary Budget or Economic Update? As a Minority Government, Liberals Have Managed to Avoid Oversight, Committees, Transparency (Oh Right, Liberals Don't Like Committees)
https://nationalpost.com/opinion/rex-murphy-a-237-page-fiscal-update-but-still-no-budget
"...If the Department of Finance can produce an Eaton’s catalogue of spending plans, gender moralism and green initiatives, and conjure up an additional $100 billion in future stimulus spending on top of a deficit that could end up being as high as $400 billion, why, oh why, could it not produce — hold your breath — an actual budget? As Parliament requires. A budget, lest we forget, is absolutely central to the functioning of a parliamentary democracy.
Well, the obvious reason is that what the country got this week was a budget, but camouflaged for political convenience as an update. This was done in order to exempt it from the seriousness, consequences and oversight of an actual budget. You know, oversight, debates, committees, etc.
This government is executing the greatest spending splurge in our history with a half-closed Parliament and while refusing to table an actual budget. TMAC Resources Acquisition by Shandong Gold: The Score Card With China Increases

"...Canada still does not have new icebreakers unlike Russia, which is building a fleet of 13 new polar icebreakers. Beijing has two medium-strength icebreakers and is building a larger, more powerful icebreaker as it looks to use the Arctic as a shipping lane and to exploit minerals.
Mr. Fraser said Ottawa also needs to have a bigger military presence in the Arctic, including continued air surveillance operations using autonomous underwater vehicles and regular navy and coast guard patrols. Canada is starting to accept delivery of new Arctic and offshore patrol vessels but they can’t operate in the Far North during the winter and have limited ice-breaking capability.
He said the government has been “asleep at the switch” when it comes to asserting Canadian sovereignty in the Arctic.
