More lies spread about "free universal" health care. As a provincial example, $63.4 billion in Ontario, the largest expenditure by the province ($5,000 for every man, woman, child), more than twice education ($29.8 billion, not including Ontario Teachers Pension Plan impact). Free? Ontarians pay ~$78 billion in income and sales taxes (of a total $153 billion the province takes in). Also, a disappointing example that a top reason someone desires and is lucky enough to emigrate to Canada (it is not values, not acknowledgement of opportunities, not our Franco-Anglo history, not an inspiring anthem, not enjoying winter sports, not Canadian culture, not two official languages, not the ability to contribute to society, not education standards, not Commonwealth, not voting in elections, not for rural or urban reasons, not rule of law, not our quirky accent and "eh")...but the commonplace western world social benefit of healthcare (although important) - that's a main reason?
