Liberals Behaving Badly: Will Not Call Out Nor Annoy China

"...The criticism comes after the official twitter account for Global Affairs Canada stated briefly on Tuesday that it was “very concerned” about the incarceration of Chinese citizen journalist Zhang Zhan earlier this week. Unemployment at 10.2%, Need for Quarantining Candians and International Travellers and Border Controls Yet 107,000 Express Entry Participants "Invited" to Canada

https://www.cicnews.com/2020/12/2020-a-record-breaking-year-for-express-entry-1216635.html#gs.pb0vlu

10.2% unemployment, pandemic times, necessity of quaranting by international travellers, and....

"...Canada finished off the year issuing 107,350 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to Express Entry candidates. This was the highest invitation total since the Express Entry system was introduced in 2015 to manage the pool of candidates for Canada’s three Federal High-Skilled immigration programs— the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC)— as well as some of its Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP)..."

The Porous Canadian Border Continues, Even During Pandemic Times

Like a bad referee in a game seven who misses blatant penalties and lets events get out of hand, Justin has lost control on the border (among China, financial disclosure, ethics confidence, etc.)

https://nationalpost.com/news/canada-is-turning-asylum-seekers-away-at-the-border-and-then-changing-its-mind

"...When the United States and Canada agreed in March to close their border to asylum seekers at unauthorized entry points, Canadian officials said they had received assurances from their U.S. counterparts that the asylum seekers they turned back wouldn’t be deported.

...Canadian Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino this month exempted five of those asylum seekers from the border restrictions, according to Kate Webster, their Toronto-based lawyer. Another application is pending. That means they will be allowed to enter Canada, if the United States releases them.

“While we absolutely welcome this decision and are very happy about it, we’re mindful that this is only a small piece of the puzzle and that the exemption on its own is not a complete solution,” Webster said....'

Sir John A.: Will He Ever Have a Fair Shake? 2020 Said No

"...The fact that indigenous peoples in the West stipulated that education be provided in their treaties is ignored, as is the fact that Macdonald insisted that residential school attendance be voluntary — and open to girls and boys. They were only made mandatory long after his death. We don’t hear much about these facts these days.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and there is certainly more than enough in John A. Macdonald’s record to show that he was far from perfect on Indigenous matters, but there is also ample evidence that shows that he was acutely aware of his and his government’s responsibilities towards Indigenous people, and that both he and his governments did their best to meet these responsibilities. (Is the federal government doing much better on that file today, with a far larger bureaucracy and much more money?) It is certainly ironic that Macdonald, who was roundly criticized by contemporaries for being too “progressive” on Indigenous issues, is now vilified for his lack of compassion.."

Finally: Government Rejects Chinese Gold Producer's Acquisition of TMAC Resources in Canada's North

Combined with the ridiculous "invite" to China's PLA to "share" arctic battle measures and the ongoing Meng case, this puts more strain on Canadian Chinese relations. The right decision ruled on this transaction given the abundance of port and air strip infrastructure in Canada's remote north for such a Chinese government influenced entity to run amok.

More Skills Shortage Nonsense: Inmigration's Leg ti Stand On

 https://www.cicnews.com/2020/12/canada-needs-tech-talent-1216523.html#gs.o34od3

At some point the institution of immigration will have to answer to the chronic issues of " lack of skilled workers" and " aging population ".  This has been an excuse for decades now.

If the demand is so high for such tech jobs, why are our Canadian universities and colleges failing to meet this demand and design diplomas and degrees to prepare students for such a high growth, high demand, good paying, important career choice?

"...The Global Talent Stream (GTS) is a fast-track federal immigration program that helps employers attract and retain highly skilled temporary foreign workers. Under the GTS, employers need to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). This is to prove that they have exhausted all possibilities to hire from the local talent pool. This process takes two weeks.

Once this process is over, foreign nationals can then apply to come to Canada through the GTS. Canada processes these applications in just two weeks. This means that it can take just four weeks for a foreign national to come to Canada through this program..."

Fact Checking Justin? Is Climate Change Determined by Scientists or Political Scientists?

 https://financialpost.com/opinion/learn-the-science-before-you-follow-it-fact-checking-justin-trudeau-on-climate-change

"...Has Canada experienced record storms? No. Environment and Climate Change Canada’s “Engineering Climate Datasets” show no overall increase in rainfall intensities. In Canada’s Changing Climate Report they clearly state, “For Canada as a whole, observational evidence of changes in extreme precipitation amounts, accumulated over periods of a day or less, is lacking.” Has the prime minister bothered to check this basic fact? Apparently not.

More Examples of Canada as a Country of Pemanent Residents Rather Than Citizens: Spousal Sponsorship From Abroad - 80,000 per Year?!

It is easy to lose track of all these programs and the tens of thousands that are associated with each. This program alone where 80,000 spousal applications from abroad annually seems like a really high number. Question: is this included in the planned 400,000 annual immigration target or outside of that (full citizenship is not immediately granted under this program)?

"...Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino recently said that Canada is working to process 49,000 of these applications in 2020. The new immigration levels plan is calling for about 80,000 spouses, partners, and children to be sponsored per year..."

Trudeau's Experimental Refugee Crusade Now Showing Cracks As Support Has Run Out - Now What?

 https://nationalpost.com/news/uncertain-future-looms-for-refugees-seeking-a-pandemic-era-fresh-start-in-canada

After doling out money to all Canadians (clearly excluding seniors and Albertans), and even extending to permanent residents, temp workers, visa holders and international students, I'm sure Justin will be making an announcement on this...

"...She and Alhajali are among dozens of people trying to convince the federal government to provide an additional six months of financial support to refugees in acknowledgment of the pandemic’s toll.

So far, they say, the government has shown little interest.

Canada had planned to settle 20,000 privately sponsored refugees this year but by the end of September only 3,500 had arrived. How long it will take for the rest remains unclear.

A spokesman for Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino said the entire immigration system has, and continues to be, challenged by the pandemic, pointing to among other things the need to find and provide quarantine spaces for incoming arrivals.

“While many countries have closed their doors to refugees, we continue to welcome the world’s most vulnerable, recognizing these constraints,” Alexander Cohen said in an email..."

TMAC Resources: The Two Michaels Can Be Saved By Canada, US; However There Is Still A Northern Gold Producer Acquisition By China Yet To Be Approved

https://nationalpost.com/opinion/raymond-j-de-souza-ottawas-secret-plan-to-host-chinese-military-while-ignoring-the-two-michaels-makes-for-chilling-reading

Not to mention there is an acquisition process by Shandong Gold of TMAC Resources, the most northerly gold producer in Canada's remote far north and with port access and other infrastructure, yet to be approved by the Liberal government on security grounds. What a coincidence the PLA welcomes "sharing" of arctic training from the Canadian Forces during this ongoing transaction approval process.

" ..The bureaucrats headed to their battlements, meaning crafting memoranda. Drafts flew back and forth, and have now been released. As is customary, they were supposed to black out the bits that are illuminating but embarrassing. They forgot to do it, or, one hopes, a conscientious whistleblower somewhere decided to let the cowardice out of the diplomatic bag.

The entire exchange is characterized by the fear that the PLA or Chinese politburo may take offence at being denied espionage-friendly access to Canadian bases. There is not a hint of shock, let alone dismay, that the Canadian Armed Forces are training the PLA, precisely in techniques that would prove helpful if, say, the PLA went venturing about in the high Canadian Arctic. The diplomatic drafts insist that before Vance take any actions on PLA co-operation he should clear them first with Global Affairs, to avoid any chill at receptions hosted by the Canadian embassy in Beijing..."

Similarly, in the “People” category, there are no Canadians in the Top 10.

More Lies of "Free Universal" Health Care; Disappointing Example of Why People Choose to Move, and Are Accepted, Into Canada

More lies spread about "free universal" health care.  As a provincial example, $63.4 billion in Ontario, the largest expenditure by the province ($5,000 for every man, woman, child), more than twice education ($29.8 billion, not including Ontario Teachers Pension Plan impact).  Free? Ontarians pay ~$78 billion in income and sales taxes (of a total $153 billion the province takes in).  Also, a disappointing example that a top reason someone desires and is lucky enough to emigrate to Canada (it is not values, not acknowledgement of opportunities, not our Franco-Anglo history, not an inspiring anthem, not enjoying winter sports, not Canadian culture, not two official languages, not the ability to contribute to society, not education standards, not Commonwealth, not voting in elections, not for rural or urban reasons, not rule of law, not our quirky accent and "eh")...but the commonplace western world social benefit of healthcare (although important) - that's a main reason?

Liberals' Parliamentary Budget or Economic Update? As a Minority Government, Liberals Have Managed to Avoid Oversight, Committees, Transparency (Oh Right, Liberals Don't Like Committees)

 https://nationalpost.com/opinion/rex-murphy-a-237-page-fiscal-update-but-still-no-budget

"...If the Department of Finance can produce an Eaton’s catalogue of spending plans, gender moralism and green initiatives, and conjure up an additional $100 billion in future stimulus spending on top of a deficit that could end up being as high as $400 billion, why, oh why, could it not produce — hold your breath — an actual budget? As Parliament requires. A budget, lest we forget, is absolutely central to the functioning of a parliamentary democracy.

Well, the obvious reason is that what the country got this week was a budget, but camouflaged for political convenience as an update. This was done in order to exempt it from the seriousness, consequences and oversight of an actual budget. You know, oversight, debates, committees, etc.

This government is executing the greatest spending splurge in our history with a half-closed Parliament and while refusing to table an actual budget. TMAC Resources Acquisition by Shandong Gold: The Score Card With China Increases

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-retired-general-urges-rejection-of-chinese-takeover-of-arctic-gold/

Add this to the Meng and two Michaels score card with China

"...Canada still does not have new icebreakers unlike Russia, which is building a fleet of 13 new polar icebreakers. Beijing has two medium-strength icebreakers and is building a larger, more powerful icebreaker as it looks to use the Arctic as a shipping lane and to exploit minerals.

Mr. Fraser said Ottawa also needs to have a bigger military presence in the Arctic, including continued air surveillance operations using autonomous underwater vehicles and regular navy and coast guard patrols. Canada is starting to accept delivery of new Arctic and offshore patrol vessels but they can’t operate in the Far North during the winter and have limited ice-breaking capability.

He said the government has been “asleep at the switch” when it comes to asserting Canadian sovereignty in the Arctic.

How Does Media, Publications and Online Rags Avoid Consequences Spreading Leftist Lies? This One Claiming Canada the Land With "Low Unemployment Rates" and "Free" Healthcare

"Low" unemployment rate and "Free" universal health care? This is Canada? Then why are my (among others) provincial taxes so high with most of those provincial tax dollars going to health care "expenditures"?  Significantly more dollars than  even second place education?  (Yet another example of reckless, leftist reporting when health care is portrayed like this).

Correction Coming in Equity Markets?

November's returns up 12.7%.  Looking to buy puts on SPY

VIX Below 20?!?!? Calm Before the Storm...

With record monthly returns (especially during an election year) on the DOW, all time record highs, a surprisingly quiet post-Biden victory/pre-handover by Trump period, tax loss selling upcoming from year end approaching to book returns (and bonuses for portfolio managers), surprising to see market reflected as such.

Time to buy VIX, GLD call options and SPY puts. More to follow...

Dow Passes 30,000! Among the Big Winners - Oil and Gas, Pipelines (Yes, That's Right)

Dow Jones hits 30,000 for first time as Wall Street bets on 2021 bounce | Financial Post

During a Pandemic, Quaranting, (Supposed) Restricted Travel and Record Unemployment, Liberals Steamroll On With Record Immigration, Permanent Residents, Parent/Grandparent Reunification, Temporary Resident Programs

During a pandemic, these numbers should they not have been reviewed and thought to be adjusted rather than steamrolling in the current vector?

"...This has been a banner year for Express Entry in spite of COVID-19 with Canada having already invited 92,350 immigration candidates in 2020, the highest level ever. Canada could end the year by surpassing 100,000 invitations to apply for the very first time since Express Entry was born in 2015...

...For 2020, IRCC will invite up to 10,000 sponsors to apply to sponsor parents and grandparents for Canadian immigration. Next year, IRCC is expected to invite up to 30,000 sponsors..."

...Mendicino recently told Bloomberg that Canada is looking into more ways to allow temporary residents to transition to permanent residents. This is supposed to help make up for the decline in new immigrants admitted to Canada during the pandemic, which has also resulted in a hit to Canada’s population and economic growth. Though we don’t know exactly when this announcement will be made, it’s worth keeping on the radar. While it could come as soon as by December, IRCC sometimes delays such major announcements until after the holidays.

There are a number of ways the federal government can create more pathways to permanent residence for temporary foreign workers and international students. Here are some of the options IRCC could employ to allow more temporary residents to become Canadian permanent residents...."

Trudeau's Vaccine Lies Are Showing After Rolling Out Soft Spoken Procurement Minister This Whole Time

https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/trudeau-warns-covid-19-vaccine-will-come-later-to-canada-than-other-countries

Anything to carry this underhanded, non-transparent government through minority status for another day.  Cracks appearing now in Trudeau's false hopes of vaccine vision for Canadians as timeline and capacity limits start to sink in.  Vaccines for Canadians in early 2022 for something that has not yet been approved by any country nevermind Canada, manufactured, shipped after being determined where in the queue Canada lies (at least behind US, Germany and probably a good part of Europe) is impossible no matter how many millions of vaccinations this government has claimed to have under contract.

Why is Minister of Innovation (Imagination?) Navdeep Bains involved in this? Vaccine manufacturing facilities are a "need", they don't exist already to make better or "innovate" them.  It's binary.

"...Industry Minister Navdeep Bains said unfortunately there were no simple solutions when it came to increasing manufacturing.

“We need to recognize that building these complex bio-manufacturing facilities takes time,” he said.

At the start of the pandemic, Canada made virtually no personal protective equipment inside our borders. Bains said the government has worked to change that and will do the same with vaccines...'

Without a Vaccine, Will Canada Ever Reduce Its Covid Cases With this Lack of Quarantining: 6.5 Million Entries Into Canada Dud Nit Quarantine According to CSIB Estimates

Surely the Government of Canada keeps track ( and stop calling me Shirley)

"...More than five million arrivals into Canada have been allowed to skip the 14-day quarantine requirement put in place when the country closed its borders to non-essential travel in late March, the Canada Border Services Agency estimates.

The data — which was compiled by the CBSA at the request of CBC News — shows that more than 80 per cent of the 6.5 million total arrivals into Canada between March 31 and Nov. 12 were exempt from the quarantine meant to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

The arrival numbers include repeat entries by the same person.

On the Overly Sensitive Issue of Immigration, thr Financial Post Has Some Sobering Opinions and Polls Around Liberal-ly Increasing Annual Immigration Numbers at This Time

"...A new poll by Nanos Research Group for Bloomberg News notes that a mere 17 per cent of Canadian respondents believe the country should accept more immigrants in 2021 than it did last year.

As many as 40 per cent of respondents said the government should in fact reduce the number of new permanent residents accepted in 2021 below 340,000, while 36 per cent favoured the same immigration levels as 2019.

Opposition parties are also raising concerns, Bloomberg reported.

Post Hallowe'en Fright: Liberals Propping Up "Approved" Media Sources Through, of All Things, a CRA Approved Tax Credit (The Gall of it All)

As tax season approaches...

Rarely do I post from this source, but it has one of the most plain uses of explaining financial details to the broader masses.  And if you are not frightened by this plain English (although Hallowe'en has already passed), I'm not sure how else to explain.  The $500 Digital News Subscription Tax Credit is an income tax measuresmeant "to support journalism".  Laughable and horrific at the same time.

Not only that, the Liberals have set up, through CRA approvals, have set up a "Qualified Canadian Journalism Organization" allowed to call what is "news" and approve "journalism".

Anyone remember reading that book 1984 in high school?

But Monday’s threat of a confidence vote by Liberals did not impress the opposition.

“Is he really suggesting that if the committee looks into Trudeau’s corruption that Trudeau is just going to call an election?” said Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre. “No government in Canadian history has been brought down because an opposition motion passed to set up a committee.”

MBSs and CMBs: How the BoC "Manages" Canada's Mortgage Market

https://betterdwelling.com/bank-of-canada-ending-pandemic-program-that-helped-real-estate-prices-surge/

"...First, a quick refresher (or intro) to Canada Mortgage Bonds (CMBs). Lenders originate mortgages, pool them, then sell the pool as mortgage backed securities (MBS) to the government. To pay for the MBS, the government sells CMBs to investors to get the funds. The cash flow from the MBS, is then used to pay investors holding the CMBs. In other words, a CMB is a state-backed security for mortgage financing in Canada. Easy, right? Totally obvious, and I’m sure you got that on the first read.

These influence the cost of borrowing based demand for these bonds. When investor demand for CMBs rises, interest paid to investors falls. When demand falls, interest paid should rise. It’s a simple concept based on demand of the free market, which changes based on the risk environment. Except in a country that may have a housing bubble. Then when demand evaporates due to risk – the state steps in..."

Liberals' WE Charity Strategy Playimg Out As Per Plan: Prorogued Parliamemt Was Alawaus in the Works as such Liberals Coukd Promise to Bring "Later" What Commuttee had Asked Then To Knowing Full Well the Liberals Would Never Have To Do It

https://nationalpost.com/opinion/chris-selley-nobody-should-tolerate-the-liberals-hideous-tricks-to-hide-we-documents

Things that were "promised" and supposed to be "checked" and "will get back to the committee" with, are never going to happen. the whole committee (Liberal members)  knew parliament was going to be prorogued and that was the Liberal strategy all along, never to release such details.

"...He was referring to the pathetic, endless spectacle of Liberal members of two separate parliamentary committees — 21 hours of useless wrangling between them on Thursday — refusing to allow votes on motions concerning their party’s WE Charity debacle.

Liberal members of the finance committee spent 11 hours on Thursday filibustering, moving hopeless amendments and otherwise avoiding a vote on a motion condemning heavy redactions in WE-related emails released in August.

Those redactions were numerous enough that Philippe Dufresne, the independent parliamentary law clerk, and even Wayne Easter, the Liberal chair of the committee, expressed some concern. Now, however, Liberals will move heaven and earth to keep those black lines where they are — and they don’t mind how ridiculous they look doing it.

To wit: Also on Thursday, Liberals on the ethics committee spent 10 hours avoiding a vote on a motion to have the Speakers’ Spotlight booking agency release receipts of various Trudeaus’ paid speaking appearances over the years. The proceedings saw Liberal MP Han Dong expound at length about racism directed against Asian Canadians during the pandemic..."

At a Time of a Pandemic, Lockdown, Restricted Borders, Catastrophic Job Losses and an Already Overburdened Health Care System, Canada is Bragging About The Record Numbers From Immigration Into a Three Urban Centres Country for 2020

 https://www.cicnews.com/2020/10/will-canada-exceed-100000-express-entry-invitations-in-2020-1016074.html#gs.ih9eg7

Baed on, "The economic class accounts for nearly 60 per cent of all new immigrants welcomed by Canada each year", then 170,000 are estimated to enter Canada.  Including or not including "aiming" for 50,000 refugees.

"...Canada is on pace to issue 100,000 or more Express Entry invitations in 2020.

Prior to Canada imposing travel restrictions in March 2020, immigration minister Marco Mendicino announced the country would target 341,000 new permanent resident admissions in 2020.

In fact, Canada’s Immigration levels Plan 2020-2022 set a target to welcome 91,800 immigrants to Canada through Express Entry.

Express Entry is the main way Immigration, Refugees and Canada (IRCC) manages economic class immigration applications. The economic class accounts for nearly 60 per cent of all new immigrants welcomed by Canada each year.

Nonetheless, the ongoing Express Entry draws that have taken place on a bi-weekly basis since the start of the pandemic have been a pleasant surprise.

Whereas there was belief at the start of the pandemic that Express Entry draws may be temporarily paused or they would see fewer invitations issued, the exact opposite has occurred.

Instead, we are seeing record-breaking Express Entry draws with Canada emphatically indicating it still plans to welcome high levels of immigration after the pandemic is over.

On October 14, Canada held its largest Express Entry draw ever.

The draw marked one of just two occasions in which Canada issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence to 4,500 Express Entry candidates. These candidates will now be able to apply for permanent residence and, if they are abroad at the moment, these candidates will eventually be able to build a life in Canada once coronavirus travel restrictions are relaxed for COPR holders.

So far, Canada has issued 82,850 Express Entry ITAs this year. Recently, draw sizes have seen between 3,900 and 4,200 invitations issued per draw.

If IRCC invites 3,900 candidates in each of the remaining five Express Entry draws in 2020, then it will issue a total of 102,350 invitations by the end of this year.

Even if draw sizes are smaller, and IRCC issues an average of 3,500 ITAs per draw, Canada will still exceed 100,000 ITAs by the end of 2020.

IRCC’s processing standard for Express Entry is six months or less for 80 per cent of applications.

Another possibility is that IRCC is holding larger draws since Canada has temporarily reduced its refugee intake due to the pandemic. Canada was aiming to welcome nearly 50,000 refugees in 2020 but this will no longer be the case. The larger draws may also be a function of other economic class programs such as the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Quebec’s immigration programs, and other federal programs also falling short of their immigration targets in 2020 due to COVID-19.

The Avro Arrow: When Canada was at Top of the Aerospace World

"... To be able to counter a potential bomber threat, in the early 1950s, the Royal Canadian Air Force called for the creation of a fighter jet unlike any other: with a range of 300 nautical miles and the ability to take off from a 6,000 foot runway and cruise at Mach 1.5 (roughly 1,852 kilometres per hour) at an altitude of 70,000 feet.

And despite the odds, thousands of Canadian workers came together and succeeded. The Avro Arrow had its first flight in March 1958 and became the crown jewel of Canada’s aviation industry..."

Coal Terminal IPO: Will Yield Investors or Environmentalists Win?

Liberals Playing Immigration Politics With First Come, First Served Policies for Parents, Grandparents of Recent Canadian Immigrants, Permanent Residents

 A game show, indeed.

https://nationalpost.com/opinion/john-ivison-canadian-resident-status-shouldnt-be-handed-out-like-a-game-show-prize

"...The problem is that the parent/grandparent program has always been massively oversubscribed. The first-come-first-served process was responsible for building up a backlog of 165,000 applications under the Conservatives. The Harper government froze applications in 2011 and increased intake targets for two years before returning to more traditional levels of admission and capping applications at 5,000.

The Liberals saw an opportunity in that policy and in the 2015 election, promised to double applications to 10,000 a year."

Oil Versus Electric Vehicles as an Investment (Hint: Where is the Extra Electrical Capacity Coming From?)

https://financialpost.com/investing/electric-vehicles-are-a-great-story-but-oil-and-gas-may-be-the-better-investment

"...While these kinds of lofty ambitions are getting significant attention, we are left wondering just how achievable they really are. California, for example, experienced blackouts this summer due to spikes in air conditioner use — how specifically is it going to handle the incredible demand from the conversion to electric vehicles in only 15 years?

...Here in Canada, Suncor (SU:TSX) is trading only 11 per cent off its low whereas Exxon (XOM:NYSE) is 10 per cent off its low. For some further perspective, both stocks have lost more than 57 per cent of their value over the past five years. As a whole, Canadian producers as represented by the Capped Energy Index are down a whopping 65 per cent while U.S. producers as represented by the SPDR S&P Oil and Gas Exploration and Producers Index have been crushed losing over 73 per cent of their value in the past five years. Think about this, especially with WTI oil prices only being down 4 per cent over the same period.

Finally, take a look at the forward curve that currently has oil prices over $46 per barrel out in 2025 and over $51 per barrel out in 2030. According to Eric Nuttall, senior portfolio manager at Ninepoint Partners, at those prices producers are currently trading at roughly half of their historical Enterprise Value to Cash Flow multiples, which in theory implies they are factoring in forward oil prices half that of what oil futures are currently trading at. If this is the case, it makes much more sense for companies to acquire a barrel than drill for it.

CBC said the cuts were not related to the pandemic, although it has exacerbated the financial pressures of declining advertising and subscription revenues for the public broadcaster and other media organizations.

Is Oil Set for Huge Gains? Let's Look at the History of US Presidents...

History says, on average, as the first term ends of the recent US Presidencies, oil has increased --% or a near doubling.  With oil hovering around $54/bl in November, 2016, and after a covid selloff in March, 2020, oil has still a way to climb to reach its original starting price, nevermind a doubling.  Regardless, with the hopes of a vaccine and the world to approach normal as best as can be (with predictions of a vaccine in Q1 2021),  the stock market will at some point next year begin to price in plane travel, driving seasons, etc. as demand drivers of oil.  Credit to the chart below from www.macrotrends.net.

 https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/alleged-mastermind-of-lavish-mansion-casino-raided-by-police-met-twice-with-prime-minister-justin-trudeau

"...Do you know what day it is? If not, you can scoot over to the prime minister’s website and discover it’s, say, Cyprus’ 60th Independence Day. And read a bunch of lies about how he cares.

It’s bad enough when politicians churn out empty pieties about Mental Illness Awareness Week or Fire Prevention Week, because there are so many worthy causes and so few weeks (just 52 this year, I’m told).

It spins a massive web of petty deceit. On Sept. 30 Trudeau intoned, “It was with great sadness that I learned of the death of …” You have no idea, right? Neither does he. The demise of “His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait” caused Trudeau no loss of sleep or appetite.

It gets worse. The statement, supposedly quoting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, went on to read, “Canada joins the people of Kuwait in honouring their leader and his profound legacy.” So we’re even asked to wink at his lies on our behalf. Canada didn’t “join” with any “people of Kuwait,” who were actually sorry. I doubt 100 Canadians knew.

Overwhelmingly Favoured Country of Express Entry, Permanent Residency/Immigration Applications to Canada: A Simple Mathematical, Unbiased Question - Why?

If you read this, would you ask yourself anything?

"...In 2019, ____ citizens accounted for a quarter of the 341,000 immigrants who were welcomed by Canada.."

"...______ accounted for almost half of the principal applicants who were invited to apply for permanent residence between 2017 and 2019..."

To question the sanctimonous institution of entry and immigration to Canada has been rendered taboo and runs the risk of being called many things.  However, from a purely mathematical point of view, how is it that one area of the world comprises an overwhelming majority of applicants through various programs including Express Entry, permanent residency and immigration to Canada?  Especially in a country that has preached diversity, multi-culturalism and inclusion.

Running your finger down any list of numeric items, large numbers above the average would certainly catch your eye and may cause you to simply ask why or investigate further.  Similarly, in this case, the numbers are eye catching and begs the simple question (race, religion, ethnicity, sexuality, age aside) - "why"?  Out of sheer curiousity, why would any one country be so over represented as this in a deemed multi-cultural society (some country is going to have to lay claim to having "the most", but why this magnitude)?  Another simple question, why are so many other applicants from other counties being overlooked or under represented?  Is there a new quota or does it reflect the number of total applicants?  If that is the reason then let it be known or is there another basis Canadians are not aware of?  Is Canada's immigration institution a fair and equitable system?  Is someone, some organization or something receiving a benefit from this? A consulate office? Or in Canada?
